The B.A. in theatre arts is a comprehensive, flexible degree that allows students to study various aspects of theatre such as performance (acting, musical theatre, dance), theatrical production (stage management, directing), design (scenic, costumes, lighting, sound), dramaturgy, theatre history, and dramatic literature. The B.A. degree is designed for students who want to teach, to pursue graduate education, to work in the entertainment industry, or to complement a double major or dual degree program.

A Major in Theatre Arts for the BA Degree requires the following courses:

326. DRAMATIC LITERATURE I
327. DRAMATIC LITERATURE II
338. TECHNOLOGY LAB I
339. TECHNOLOGY LAB II
499. SENIOR REVIEW
Two of the following:
270. BASIC LIGHTING & SOUND TECHNOLOGY
271. INTRODUCTION TO STAGECRAFT
272. INTRODUCTION TO COSTUMES FOR THE STAGE
10 hours of theatre electives
Note: Eight (8) hours of dance courses may be counted toward the major, with no more than four (4) hours from dance technique courses (Danc 151-154, Danc 251-254, Danc 351-355, Danc 451-455).
OTHER ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
A grade of C or higher is required on all theatre courses applied toward the major.
In addition to the core curriculum and theatre arts requirements listed, the BA in theatre requires elective hours chosen from any area, including theatre arts, to bring the total number of credits to 120 semester hours.
Students pursuing a BA in Theatre Arts must also have a Minor.
