Instructional Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Dance

Joe Jackson is Instructional Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Dance. He earned his M.A. in Directing at Roosevelt University - Chicago College of Performing Arts and received his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre at the University of Mississippi. He specializes is Musical Theatre Dance & Tap, and brings over twenty years of professional acting and dance experience to the university.

Professionally Joe has performed in New York, regionally, and internationally, and has also been involved in multiple readings and new works. A proud member of Actors Equity Association, Joe has worked at Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre, Fulton Theatre, Arena Stage, North Shore Music Theatre, Westchester Broadway Theatre, McCarter Theatre, West Virginia Public Theatre, and Front Porch Theatricals. Joe has also performed in touring productions of multiple shows. Two highlights are the national tour of Dr. Doolittle where he tapped alongside Broadway Icon Tommy Tune, and the Italian tour of West Side Story where he proposed to his amazing wife!

Joe is also a director and choreographer, and a personal highlight was choreographing Fun Home for Front Porch Theatricals in Pittsburgh, PA.
